Robert “Lee” Easton, 62, of Omaha died at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was born on June 28, 1958, in Peoria, Illinois, to Walter E. and Nedra Hayward Easton II. Surviving are one daughter, Heather (Chris) Smith of Bloomington, Illinois; one son, Corby (Heidi) Weaver of Omaha; One brother, Andy Easton of Peoria; two sisters, Neva Courtway of Henry and Mary (Ronnie) Herron of Texas; five granddaughters, Taylor Railey of Bloominton, IL, Katie Railey of Bloomington, IL, Payton Weaver of Omaha, Addie Smith of Bloomington, IL, and Payton Smith of Bloomington, IL; three grandsons, Jake (Jordyn) Weaver of Bellevue, Ben Railey of Bloomington, IL and Luke Railey of Bloomington, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Walter E. Easton III, formerly of Peoria. Lee was a 1976 graduate of East Peoria High School in East Peoria, Illinois, where he was a member of the wrestling team and The National Honor Society. He had a long career in information technology. In his later life, he worked at Miracle Hill Golf Course and Home Depot. Lee loved watching and playing sports. He enjoyed motorsports events, football games, baseball games, boxing/MMA, and golf. He was a huge fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and whatever team his grandkids were playing on. Lee was an avid golfer, playing with the same group for more than twenty years in their standing Sunday morning tee time. He absolutely loved his family and friends. His kids and grandkids knew him as Dad, Grandpa, Leebert, Pa, Bud, Slick, Pal, Old Man. He was always there for them whenever they needed and it always came with a life lesson. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be used in Lee’s memory at a later date. A memorial golf tournament and celebration of life will tentatively be held June 26, 2021. Cremation rites have been accorded.
