Joshua Taylor Pierce was born on October 2, 1992, in Lexington, Nebraska to Elizabeth (Smith) Pachta and Brian Pierce.Growing up, Josh loved getting into trouble with his older brother and idol, Bradley Pierce.Josh grew up in Omaha, where he invested much of his time, and mom and dad’s money, in all sorts of hobbies, ranging from art, to professionally yo-yoing, video games, and sewing hacky sacks, just to name a few. Josh attended Millard Public Schools, and met his best friend and love of his life, Brianna Welty, in their sophomore year at Millard West High School. He graduated, with honors, from MWHS in 2011.Josh attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. In July 2018, Josh received a Master of Science degree in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University. Josh and Bri established their life together in the little big town of Lincoln, Nebraska as he attended college. While completing his undergraduate studies, Josh tutored NCAA athletes and discovered his love of cooking, which ended up being his life-long passion. We can thank the Olive Garden and Bread & Cup for their hand in this.Josh and Bri vowed their lives to each other on July 6, 2013 at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. They were surrounded by their loving families and closest friends. Josh found his calling at his current place of employment LI-COR Biosciences as a Science Writer II. He would come home everyday and tell Bri all the “cool things” he got to do, see or participate in. He thrived in his environment and was promoted to a supervisor in just six short months of being part of their team. He absolutely loved his job and the people he worked with. We personally think he found his calling at LI-COR Biosciences and could not be happier that he was able to experience that company and their support of his professionalism, wit, and brilliant ideas. Many people know of Josh’s love for his fur babies, Bertrand, Mia, Grayson, Luna and Penny. They brought him much pleasure and happiness. He loved spending time on the couch with them, watching sports, The Office, and cooking shows of all kinds.Josh’s most current hobby was gardening, and he spent the last several months planning and preparing for a huge garden in the backyard of the house he and Bri purchased in November, 2018.Josh was a life-long learner who was wise beyond his years. He was the happiest and most fun-loving person one would ever meet. Anyone who knew Josh, loved him, and he will be missed by all.
