In Loving Memory of Ian Andrew Burkhiser

January 19, 2001 - June 25, 2023

Ian Andrew Burkhiser (22), a bright and vibrant young man, left this world unexpectedly on June 25, 2023, in Browns Mills, NJ, at 3:22 AM.

Ian was the beloved son of Heather Theresa (Chad Walvoord) White, Jason Andrew Burkhiser, and
his bonus mom, Krista Honig. He shared a special bond with his brother, Tristen Smith, and sisters, Sydnee and Kaley Macklem. In addition, Ian's best friend, Derek Mischo, who stood by his side throughout his adventures, brought immeasurable joy to both of their lives.

Ian's journey was shaped by the unconditional love and guidance of his grandparents, Maggie
Petersen and John (Beverly Saye) Burkhiser. He found joy in the company of his uncles, TJ (Cristen) White, Cory and Brett Petersen, and his aunts, Michele Burkhiser, and Christin (Jeff) Dirks, who supported him through his life's endeavors.

Ian's cousins, Courtney (Jared) Comegys, Nick (Caitlin) Lashier, Hannah (Darren) Dillion, Gretchen, Nathan, and Rachel Wilkerson, and Ava, Maren, and Eli White, shared countless memories and experiences with him that will be forever treasured.

Ian was preceded in death by his grandmother Barbara Burkhiser and cousin Bryant Lashier.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Ian attended Millard North High School, graduating in 2019. His adventurous spirit led him to join the United States Air Force where he dedicated 3 years and 5
months of his life in service to his country. Stationed at McGuire Air Force Base, and serving deployments at Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, and AI Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Ian embodied the
values of honor and duty and attained the rank of Senior Airman. He served a tour in the Base Honor Guard and worked as a 2F051 Fuels Distribution Operator at McGuire Air Force Base. He resided in Mount Holly, NJ.

Ian found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing soccer, working out, riding motorcycles, playing video games—and above all, spending cherished moments with his family and friends. His infectious humor and undeniable charisma had the power to light up the darkest room and bring smiles to the faces of all who were fortunate enough to know him. The memories we shared, the laughter we experienced, and the love that forever binds us to him will continue to guide us through the darkest of days, reminding us to embrace life with passion.

To honor Ian's life, a Visitation will be held at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel), Omaha, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm. A Celebration of Ian's Life will follow on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 11:00 am. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and Ian will be laid to rest in the Omaha National Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks and acknowledgement to the wonderful and courageous Air Force Family that has come to his ceremony to show their love and support.
