Yongfu Lin (Joseph Lin) was born October 30, 1927 in Fujing, Fujian Province, China to the late Zonglian and Xiuhui. He departed this life in Omaha, Nebraska on March 16, 2014. Yongfu grew up in a devout Catholic household and remained devout for the rest of his life, even through a period of intense persecution in his home town. He attended a Catholic High School in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China. There, he met and married his classmate and friend Xiuyan. This union lasted the test of time for 57 years until Xiuyan departed her life in October 2004. Yongfu is a retired devoted and caring physician who graduated from Shanghai Second Medical College in 1958. Yongfu and his wife moved to Philadelphia in 2000 to live with their daughter. He became a naturalized US citizen in 2006. Yongfu enjoyed praying, cooking, playing chess with his children and grandchildren, dedicating himself to his family and bringing laughter to people around him. He was a loving son, brother, father and husband. He is survived by his son, John; his daughter-in-law, Hongli; his daughter, Chi; his son-in-law, Yishun; his grandsons, Wenyin, Jeffmin and Christopher; and his granddaughter, Wenrui.
