PHILMON, William T. "Bill"
November 12, 1946 ~ September 22, 2022

William (Bill) Philmon was born on November 12, 1946 in Althiemer, Arkansas to Sorrell T. Philmon and Vhanessie Philmon. He is preceded in death by Parents, Sorrell & Vhanessie Philmon; sisters, Jestene Philmon, Sandra Philmon Livingston and Florris Philmon Watson.

While attending Turrentine AME Church, Bill accepted Christ at the early age of 11. After moving to Omaha in his young adult years, he went on to attend and become a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. As a child, Bill attended Martin High School in Altheimer, Arkansas. Bill worked for Union Packing Plant and Hunter Construction. He received certifications in masonry, operative plasters and HVAC. In 1988, Bill started his own business, “Lightweight Construction” where he renovated homes and structures. He was well known for his quality work and passion for making things anew.

Bill was a father of six children: Annette Philmon, Gregory McDougle, Alvin T. Philmon, Felicia Philmon-Merritt (Kenneth), Carin Philmon, Carlos Philmon to whom he is survived. He is also survived by brothers, Walter Philmon, and Calvin Philmon; sisters, Joyce Philmon-Warren, Mitsu Philmon-Davis, his children and a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He felt that his children and grandchildren were his most amazing accomplishment. Bill had love for every child that he met and guided them as a father figure without fail.

Bill loved family vacations, specifically cruises to Jamaica, had a voracious appetite for music and westerns. He had an infectious laugh and made a friend in every arena of his life.
As Bill’s health declined in recent years, he recommitted himself to the Lord and remained faithful to God. His life serves as a testament of what a son, father, uncle, husband, brother and steward of God should be. His life and legacy will continually live on through those who loved him and were graced with his presence.
