William James Matson“BJ” William was born September 21, 1959 in Abilene, Texas to his parents, William Palmer Matson & Marily Ann Gloster Matson, whom both preceded him in death. BJ passed June 15, 2021 Omaha, Nebraska. He is survived by his children, Megan Matson, Tyler Matson, Zachary Matson; grandchild, Evelyn Peter (Megan’s daughter); sisters, Ellen(Chuck) Gilstrap & Chris (David) Nedved; many nieces and nephews. Extended Family:Kara Matson, Phil (Kim) Smith, Steve (Laura) Smith & Jane (Paul-deceased) Smith. BJ loved fishing, baseball, NASCAR, and eating popsicles with his granddaughter Evelyn. I pray that I may live to fish Until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: When in the Lord's great landing net And peacefully asleep That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep. God looked around his garden And found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids And whispered, ‘Peace bethine’. It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home.
