BROWN, William F. “Bill” – age 85 years of Waterloo/Omaha, went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2008 Survived by: Wife, Frances Daughters, Jere Porisch of Minnesota Linda Brown of Waterloo, NE Grandsons in the Minnesota area, Christopher Porisch Chad Porisch Jack Segner Jammie Segner Justin Segner Great-Grandson, Trevor Porisch Many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Friends Bill attended North High School and Clemson University. He served in the Army Air Force from 1943 until 1946 and married Frances L. Nice that same year. Bill worked for Union Pacific Railroad for several years and in the early 50’s joined the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he worked in sales management until he retired. His employment with Goodyear took him through several promotions and moves from Omaha to Columbus, NE then to Minneapolis where the family lived in Edina, MN from 1961 to 1969. He was promoted to Regional Sales Manager and moved to the Chicago area and lived in Mt. Prospect, IL until 1973 when Bill accepted a transfer back to Omaha until his retirement. After retirement, he resumed his career in fine art with his western art prints and paintings sold in art galleries across the country (Chicago, Los Angeles and Phoenix). Bill was an active member of the Southwest Area Artists and won several awards for his paintings. His favorite subjects were John Wayne, trains/steam engines, horses and heartwarming homecoming and children scenes. Several pieces of his artwork have appeared on Christmas greeting cards. He loved painting original works of art for family members and friends and would surprise them on special occasions with the gift of his talented artwork. He also loved teaching others to draw and to paint. Bill and his wife Frances have been lifelong members of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church where he was baptized, attended Sunday school as a youth and served many years as a greeter and deacon. He and Frances had been active in Couples Groups at the church. Visitation: Friday, 4:00 to 8:00 PM with family present after 6:00 PM at Braman Mortuary Funeral Service: Saturday, 10 AM at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church (2650 Farnam) Interment: Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Memorials to the family will be directed to an artist scholarship
