HENTSCHKE, Wilfred H. “Bill”, age 92 of Omaha.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Thelma, parents, Willy and Clara Hentschke, daughter-in-law Shari Hentschke, and sister Marianne. He is survived by son Kurt and partner Missy Trout; son Mark; granddaughter January; granddaughter Sara and grandson-in-law John Chappelle; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Adairah, Norah, Jac, Leo, and Iris; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bill was born in Pender, Nebraska to poor, German immigrant parents and lived briefly in Thurston, Nebraska before moving to Omaha at the age of 3. He was a proud American and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War era before eventually finding his professional calling as a grocery salesman. He enjoyed fixing things around the house and woodworking. Bill was raised in the Lutheran faith and was married for 55 years to Thelma, the youngest daughter of a large, poor, German-American, Lutheran family until her death in 2011. He was very proud when each of the two sons he had always wanted was born, and he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
