Warda Mae (Powell) Gilbert passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday evening Febuary 25th in Omaha, NE. She was 95 years old. Warda was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, and her brothers, Robert and William Powell. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara of Evergreen, CO, her granddaughters Laura, Jennifer and Michelle, and her great-grandchildren Zane, Jack, Norah May, James, Liana, Corbin & Ashley, of Colorado. Warda was the daughter of Clendenon James of Mill Creek and Nora Mae (Gurss) Powell of Burlingame, KS. Warda was born in Burlingame, KS on Nov. 2nd, 1918. She attended Holton HS. She and her husband Frederick were long time members of Mount View Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in Woman's Circle. She was an avid golfer and bowler who also enjoyed University of Nebraska football. She loved music, and was skilled in both piano and violin.
