Virgnia Mae Mucklow
July 29th, 1951 – January 5th 2024

Virginia was born July 29th, 1951 to Eleanor Genser and Raymond Brown. She is survived by her husband, Earl Mucklow: daughter and son-in-law Jenn & Pat Michael; granddaughter Ella Michael; sister Dianne Waters (Don); brother David Brown (Linda); brother Ed Brown; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews all of who she adored. Virginia grew up in Omaha and attended Benson High School. The family moved to Hastings where she graduated from Hastings High in 1970. Virigina worked at the Hastings Regional Center for 30 years where she met the love of her life by chance in an elevator, Earl Mucklow. The couple moved to Holstein where they raised their only daughter Jennifer in a home filled with love and created lots of fun memories with family and friends.

Virginia & Earl moved to Omaha in 2007 where she worked at the Louisville Care Center as a Medication Aide and Crafts Specialist until retiring in 2018. Virginia loved Young and the Restless, crafts, craft shows, cross-stitching and cooking and would often submit her projects in the county fair. She was an avid weather watcher and would provide daily reports for her daughter. She treasured weekly shopping trips with her mom in her earlier years, and girls-day shopping trips with her daughter and granddaughter where she taught us how to sneak in sacks of goodies behind Earl’s back. Virginia’s most cherished time was time spent with her granddaughter Ella, which often included craft projects, movies complete with popcorn, and we can’t forget shopping.

Most of all she loved being surrounded by family and friends. She would often play pitch with her parents and siblings, enjoyed many game nights with her brother and family, and never missed crafts and bingo at Parsons Assisted Living. She was a natural caregiver always welcoming, never judging, and constantly loving unconditionally with her unique laugh and sense of humor. She loved animals, especially cats, and had numerous pets over the years. She also never forgot treats for her “fur” grandkids when visiting. In her later years she was surrounded by a plethora of stuffed animals and beanie boos which provided her comfort. Virginia touched many hearts and will be greatly missed. She truly enjoyed helping others have a better life while greeting them with a big warm smile.

A private memorial will be held in the coming months for family and friends.
