Rick was a dedicated worker, loyal to the auto parts business for nearly 50 years. Rick semi-retired in November 2019 but continued to work part time until April 2021.
On October 3, 1980, we met at a nightclub in Council Bluffs, IA. It was love at first sight and soon led to our marriage on April 4, 1981. Love and dedication blessed us with 4 children, Nickie, Stefanie, Stacie and Brandon. We purchased a home in April 1988 and raised our family. Later in life we became doting grandparents to a step granddaughter Madison and 7 grandchildren Caleb, Melody, TerriLyn, Elam, LoriLei, Braylen and Elliot who continue to be the lights of our lives.
During the remainder of his years he encountered a number of health challenges which led to his passing on December 13, 2022 at UNMC Hospital. Join me and our family in a celebration of his wonderful life, his loyalty to his family and dedication to his friendships throughout the years. We will miss him …….
Rick was preceded in death by son Brandon Thomsen; parents Kenneth & Marjorie Thomsen; He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lori; daughters: Nickie (Jason) Brandis, Stefanie Thomsen, Stacie Thomsen; Step granddaughter Madison; grandchildren: Caleb, Melody, TerriLyn, Elam, LoriLei, Braylen, Elliot; brother Barney (Carol) Thomsen; sister Lori Teachout.
CELEBRATION OF RICK'S LIFE: Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel)
