He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of Plumbers Local Union #16; Van was preceded in death by wife June Melby; He is survived by his Daughter Cindy Melby Phaneuf & husband Gerry; Son Bruce Melby; Grand Daughter Kristin; Many other relatives & friends. Celebration of Van’s Life: Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (6201 N. 60 St.). Visitation: Friday, 5-7:00 PM at Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel).
