Jirkovsky, Thomas Jeffrey "Tom"
7/21/1964 - 10/14/2023
Thomas Jeffrey Jirkovsky was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 21, 1964. He is the youngest of four children born to Mae (Moser) and Charles Jirkovsky. He attended grade school at St. Thomas More in Omaha, and later, Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tom also attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
Tom’s formative years were filled with playing ice hockey and racing cars and dirt bikes. In his late twenties, he began playing the guitar, a hobby which he would continue for the rest of his life. In 1986, he married Natalie Wilson, and they had one son, Charles. Tom later worked as a General Manager for U-Haul while singing and playing rhythm guitar in the band Mystic East. Tom’s passion for music led him to a career as a professional sound engineer, owning his own sound company and serving as local support for larger touring acts including Garth Brooks and Shania Twain.
After moving to Southern California, he and his brother Jerry owned and operated California Race Services, where they served as the west coast Pirelli motorcycle racing tire distributors. For the last fifteen years, Tom resided in the mountains of Frazier Park, California, where he lived out his dream of working with animals and caring for horses on a large ranch. For seventeen years, he was rarely seen without his loyal dog and companion, Hootie, and recently adopted his loveable sidekick Two.
Tom passed away on October 14, 2023 following a heart attack. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Jirkovsky; his mother, Mae Rita (Moser) Jirkovsky; his sister, Sue Preister; and his brother, Jerry Jirkovsky. He is survived by his son, Charles (and Michelle) Jirkovsky; his ex-wife, Natalie; his brother, Jim Jirkovsky; his brother-in-law, Ron Preister, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
