Thomas R. Conrad, age 59 of Omaha, passed away on July 16, 2021 after weeks of putting up a good fight while being hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Thomas was born December 18, 1961 in Omaha, NE.He was kind, thoughtful, and he absolutely loved to socialize with his family and friends. He could talk about anything and everything for hours, and he would do just about anything to help a friend in need.Tom loved sports, especially NASCAR racing. He treasured every keepsake friends and family would give him, from a lug nut that came off a tire change at a NASCAR race, to his collection of tools and yard equipment.Whether they worked or not, Tom was a collector with an incredible memory, and every item had a special story and was a special memory for him. Tom had many good friends and was always appreciative spending time outside of the house visiting with them.He also held a variety of customer service and maintenance positions over the years that included maintenance worker, security guard, nursery staff, and yard worker. As he got older, perhaps his favorite job of all was “Supervisor,” as he not only appreciated the help of others around his house, but he relished teasing them if they “missed a spot” with a chuckle. Tom was a true Christian and for years enjoyed spending his time attending Atonement Lutheran Church, prior to their closure. He also enjoyed relaxing with his beloved cats, Gigi and Taz, who would nuzzle up to him as he rubbed their heads while they all watched TV together. Tom was a joy to be around, he valued the small things in life, and his company will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Tom is survived by sisters, Betty (Dick) Widtfeldt of Blair, NE, Sue (Josh) Frazier of Verdigre, NE, and brother, Douglas Conrad of Willits, California, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and his two beloved cats, Gigi and Taz.He was preceded in death by his mother, Mollie Meyer, and brother, Bob Conrad of Omaha, NE.
