Thomas “Tom” L. Christiansen passed away October 17, 2024. Tom was born August 2, 1950 to Leroy and Leona Christiansen in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tom graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a degree in education. Early in Tom’s career he excelled in restaurant management which led him to meeting Robin, his wife of 40 plus years. Towards the end of his career he moved into the retail industry holding his most recent position in delivery operations at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Tom and Robin were married on March 28, 1983. Their union produced two children, Jeff and Jamie Christiansen.
Tom loved nature which led him to traveling much of America to explore the outdoors. In his early adulthood he hiked the Grand Canyon twice. He enjoyed running, fishing, hiking, gardening and any outdoor activity. He also enjoyed sports, particularly Nebraska Cornhusker football and the College World Series. Traditionally he would attend the CWS each year with Jeff to celebrate Father’s Day. One of his favorite activities was bowling on the weekends with his wife Robin. He also shared his passion for 4 wheeling with Jamie and loved to ride ATV’s with her. He was a dedicated father and made sure never to miss the kid’s extracurricular activities. Tom dedicated his life to providing for and taking care of his family. He was a loving husband and father. Robin, Jeff and Jamie were the center of his universe.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Robin, his parents, Leroy and Leona Christiansen and grandparents, August and Anna Fintel and William and Louise Christiansen. He is survived by his son, Jeff (Sinira) Christiansen and daughter, Jamie Christiansen. He is also survived by his sisters, Sheryl Dispensa, Lori (Mike) Johnson, Lisa Wallace and brother, Allen (Ann) Christiansen and several nephews. Tom is to be buried at a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation: Wednesday, October 23 from 4-6 pm at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel, 6505 S. 144th St. Omaha NE
Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 23 at 6 pm, with a reception to follow the service, also at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel
