Therese L. "Terri" Ziegler

ZIEGLER, Therese L. “Terri” 8/16/1957 – 8/1/2019 Terri, age 61, passed away in her home with her beloved son and husband with her. She died ofleukemia after a courageous year-long battle. Her cancer treatment was received at the Estabrook Cancer Center at Methodist Hospital, where she worked for 41.5 years. She was dedicated to serving others and impacted many lives along the way. Terri was preceded in death by her father Mike Barry; She is survived by her Husband of 37 years, Mark Ziegler; Son Tom Ziegler & his wife Kim; Grandson Oliver Ziegler; Mother Betty Barry; Brother Wayne Barry; Sister Sandy Hawley; Many other relatives and friends. She was the ultimate hostess as no one ever went hungry at her house. She was known to make sure everyone got something to eat, and then got more, and then took some home with them. Or she might slip her son or his friends “a dollar” for gas, food, or shopping. Many a Saturday afternoon was spent with her childhood friend, Linda, or her mom at “The Will” and bargain stores to find hidden treasures. Often times she came home with flip flop decor to add to her collection. It brought back memories of her trips to Playa del Carmen in Mexico with her husband where she loved to sit under the palm trees and put her toes in the sand. One of her most cherished shopping finds was a beautiful swing from Nebraska City. A hot summer day on that swing with some Kenny Chesney music and a Cayman Jack Margarita in her hand would be an ideal day in her book. This is how Terri’s family would like to remember her. Celebration of Terri’s Life: Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel).
