HUCK, Theresa Fern 2/12/1957 – 7/13/2018 Age 61 years of Omaha Theresa lived many years in South Dakota raising and showing prize miniature horses. She owned and operated Mae Cody Farms.While handling all the daily operations, she found time to handle a full remodel of two homes that she combined into one, doing much of the work herself, teaching herself along the way. She returned home to Iowa and settled in Odebolt to be closer to family. Theresa furthered her education at Iowa Central Community College and received an Associates of Nursing Degree, while feeding her interest in horticulture and gardening associated with natural healing. Taking up another business, she began her own handmade jewelry line, Mae Cody Gems and Jewels.Selling many of her pieces online to the day of her passing. Family members will be wearing these pieces in memory of her. Theresa moved to Omaha, Nebraska to live with her youngest son, Kevin and continued to surround herself with family, friends and the best of friends her pets. Where ever she lived you could find the ever-faithful pets, dogs, cats, horses even snakes.Animals were yet another passion that she cared deeply about. In the past year Theresa felt the heartbreak of losing her youngest child, Kevin to a car accident along with her lifelong companion dog, Zeus, a couple of months ago. Just 6 weeks ago, while continuing to strengthen family bonds she again undertook the task of remodeling the Odebolt house in preparation for sale to move in with her sister Tina.She had already completed a new bathroom, water heater and some of the painting before falling ill. Theresa was preceded in death by her father August “Sonny” Huck, husband Steve Bright, son Kevin Bright; She is survived by her Mother Dee Brown; Children: Jeana Odegard, Ted Butler & wife Kelly; Siblings: Ted Huck & Tammy Coleman, Tim Huck, Tami Moeller & husband Ross, Tina Huck; 11 Grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Theresa’s friend Becky Kranz. Her devotion and tireless care to Theresa during her illness has been blessing when we were unable to be by her side.
