February 20, 1953 — May 4, 2024

Steven Earl Spencer, 71, passed away on May 4th. A proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970 to 1972, he served his country with honor and dedication.

Steve had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time at the river fishing and camping, especially with friends and family. He also had a green thumb and loved growing his own vegetables in the backyard. Known for his generosity, Steve was always willing to lend a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. In a final act of giving, Steve’s liver and kidneys were donated. With a contagious sense of humor, Steve had a gift for lifting spirits and spreading laughter wherever he went. He will be remembered for his quick wit and clever comebacks. Steve leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and humor. He is survived by his four daughters, one son, and a multitude of cherished friends and family members.Though he may be gone, Steve's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jan Spencer, his father Leslie Spencer and his mother Peggy Spencer. He is survived by his daughters Dawn Grant (Rick), Suzette Shepherd, Tara Spencer (Mark) Mary Spencer and son James Spencer (Becky). His siblings David Spencer, Leslie Negley, Diane Hiatt (Duane), Laura Coufal and Sandy Shukis (Russ); grandchildren Tyler Swanson, Courtney Swanson, Hunter Swanson, Jack Swanson, Madeline Shepherd, Megan Shepherd, Samantha Spencer, Emma Spencer, Noah Spencer and Allyson Evans; great grandchildren Leopold Brown and Miles Swanson. A third great grandson is due in September! He also had countless nieces and nephews.
