Preceded in death by parents Thorald and Ethel Nelson, sons Steve and Larry Nelson, daughter Rhonda Nelson.
Survived by wife of 41 years Rita (The Warden) Nelson, daughter Tammy K Nelson, sisters Linda White and Joann Monnier, 8 grandkids, 16 great grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Nels Life: Wednesday, October 4 at 10:30 am, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Coram Deo Church, 8787 Pacific St, Omaha, NE
Nels will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Omaha National Cemetery at a later date
In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project Omaha, or the Nebraska Humane Society
