Stephen "Steve" Jansen died from lung cancer in hospice on Saturday February 29th 2020 in Omaha, NE at the age of 67. Steve was born on December 12th 1952 in Storm Lake, IA to Raymond and Marian Jansen. He graduated from St Mary's High School in 1971.He went to business school after that for his 2 year associates degree.He married Anita,in June 1975.After moving to Omaha, NE, Steve began working different jobs until he found his love of solitude driving a truck. Over time, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home. His children remember him as a devoted father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.He was an active and dedicated member of St Joseph's church and often volunteered prior to his disability. Steve was preceded in death by wife Anita, brother Michael Jansen of Cherokee, Iowa; He is survived by his Children: Jill (Jared) Darling, Tony (Darci) Jansen, Beth (Josh) Elliott; Siblings: Alan (Virginia) Jansen, Don (Pam) Jansen, Barb Jansen, Rick Jansen, Theresa (Eddie) Drewes; 8 Grandchildren. Visitation: Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6-8:00pm, with a Wake Service at 7:00pm, all at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel) Funeral Mass: Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1723 S. 17 St.) Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery Following the interment, there will be a luncheon at VFW # 2503 (8904 Military Rd. Omaha, NE 68134). In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society Braman Mortuary –Southwest Chapel 6505 S. 144 St. Omaha, NE68137 402-895-3400
