Shirley (Nadeen) Bauer

Shirley Nadeen Bauer of Omaha, NE the daughter of Cloyde and Leona (Williams) Messersmith was born on August 30, 1926, in Loveland, CO. Shirley departed this life on Friday, April 28, 2023, at her residence in Omaha, NE.
Shirley moved to Superior, NE with her parents as a young child and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1943. After graduation Shirley continued to live in Superior and her occupations included working at a local dress shop, local radio station (KRFS), telephone operator with the local telephone company and dental assistant.
Shirley married the love of her life, James Henry Bauer, on April 15, 1951, at the United Methodist Church in Superior, NE by Rev. Ervin Unvert. This union was blessed with the birth of one son, Gregory. In 1976, the couple moved to Hebron, NE where Shirley took a job with the Thayer County Road Department and continued to work there until she retired in 1991.
Shirley and Jim loved to travel and play golf. They enjoyed spending time together, especially with their son and his family. They were avid Husker fans and enjoyed attending the Husker football games in Lincoln for many years.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and brother-in-law Harris Peters.
Shirley is survived by her son Gregory and wife JoAnn, grandchildren Grant (Bailei) Bauer, Jacob Bauer, one great granddaughter, Millie Bauer all in Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Doris Peters of Oregon, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held 10am -12pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel
