Sherryl Ann Rissi, age 72, born January 1, 1952, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2024.
She was born in Omaha, NE to Mary Pauline Anderson and William J. Rissi. Sherryl was compassionate and devoted her life to helping others. She found joy in volunteering for organizations such as the Red Cross and the American Council of the Blind. Her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others was truly admirable and left a lasting impact on the communities she served. In addition to her philanthropic endeavors, Sherryl had a passion for reading and could often be found engrossed in her books on tape, immersing herself in stories. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic church and enjoyed going to mass and occasionally catching a movie at the local theater.
Sherryl will be remembered for her loving nature, kind heart, and dedication to her family. She leaves behind cherished memories of family gatherings, celebrations, moments of laughter, and love shared with her loved ones. Her presence illuminated the lives of those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Let us celebrate Sherryl's life. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to touch the lives of others. She will forever be loved and remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.
Preceded in death by her parents Mary Pauline (Polly) Anderson and William J. Rissi of Omaha. She is survived by her sisters and brothers Tammy Hanssen, Kay Subbert, Lee Subbert, Deborah Zarp, and Robert Subbert, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, caregivers, and friends.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Braman Mortuary, 1702 N 72nd St., Omaha, NE 68144. Gravesite service at Calvary Cemetery to follow.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 at 11:00 am, with VISITATION one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel).
INTERMENT: Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Omaha ,NE.
