Sherry L. Woodard-Rush

12/8/1945 - 10/18/2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Sherry's passing on Friday, October 18, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. For such a small woman she had one of the biggest hearts ever known. Her compassion for those who were marginalized in our society knew no bounds. This was reflected in her career in human services with her last job, which she loved dearly, working as an ombudsman for Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging,

Sherry Lynn Woodard was born on December 8th, 1945, in San Francisco, California to Chuck and Jean Woodard. They moved to Omaha when Sherry was a young girl, and she graduated from Omaha North. She earned an associate's degree from Metro Community College in Human Services. She married Mike Rush in 2001. She had two sons from a previous marriage, Rick and Danny.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Steve and her younger sister, Linda. She is survived by her husband, Mike; her sons, Rick (Tammy) and Danny; her grandchildren, Sarah, Nick, Emma and Jack; her great -grandchildren, Henry and Eleanor; nephew, Mike; and nieces, Kathy and Lori

She will have a small memorial service at Underwood Hills Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, October 29 at 1:30 pm. Memorials can be made to Underwood Hills.
