On Saturday March 17th, 2018 the world lost a great man. Shaun Leroy Ketelsen came into this world October 19th, 1980. Shaun was a lover of sports and played many in his younger days but found his passion in wrestling, a sport that he competed in throughout his time at Elkhorn high school.Upon completion of high school Shaun proudly joined the United States Marine Corp and served shoulder to shoulder with many beloved brothers in arms.Once Shaun's time in the military was served he pursued a career as a pharmacist technician,a trade he worked in until his untimely death. Shaun had two beautiful children, Aden(13) and Alyssa(10) whom he shared with his former spouse Tagea Ketelsen.Shaun's children filled his heart with joy and pride every day of his life. Shaun later shared his and his children's life with Caitlin, Jaxon(10), and Lilly-Ann Mainquist.Though their time together was too brief it was filled with so much happiness and good times. Shaun had a passion for smoking meat low and slow and was an amazing cook.His love for the Indianapolis Colts persisted through thick and thin and you could find him rooting on his Huskers every Saturday they were playing. Shaun loved animals and almost seemed to have an eery connection with them.He will be sorely missed by his dogs Bella and Harper and cat Thomas O'Malley. Shaun will be greatly missed by many friends and family.His laugh was infectious and his ability to make others laugh was a true gift. Shaun was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Vinci; He is survived by his Children Aden & Alyssa Ketelsen; Girlfriend Caitlin Mainquist and her children Jaxon & Lilly-Ann; Father Kirk Ketelsen & Paula Smith; Sister Amber (Jonathan) Garrett; Step-Father Jerry Vinci; Many other relatives and friends. Celebration of Shaun’s Life: Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel) Interment at a later date will be at the Omaha National Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family Braman Mortuary - Southwest Chapel 6505 S. 144 St. Omaha, NE68137 402-895-3400
