HARDING-DRAKE, Sharon Kay 8/20/1947 – 12/8/2021 Sharon Harding-Drake was a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Sharon passed away on December 8, 2021, at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy. Sharon was easy to love by anyone who met her. She was well-known for her love of sunflowers, sunshine spirit, and unconditional love. Spring was her season to emerge from the long winters, get her flip flops back on, and stay busy fostering the best life possible for herself, her family, and her friends. She would always offer to help friends and family with anything they might need to enjoy life a little more. Sharon was born to Ronald and Eudora Hommer on August 20, 1947. She attended high school in Indianola, Iowa. She married her husband, John Harding, and they had two children together, Jim and Julie. Sharon lived her youth and early adult years in South Central and Western Iowa. She served as the den mother for her son Jim's Boy Scout troop and supported him and his son Chris through decades of scouting resulting in two generations of Eagle Scouts. Sharon spent many years in the retail industry before working at CSG, from which she retired. In her later years, Sharon shared a beautiful home with her daughter, Julie, in Omaha, Nebraska. She and Julie had a special bond and enjoyed entertaining friends and family and making special memories with everyone. She was a faithful servant to God and served countless hours with many churches. Sharon met the love of her life and genuine soulmate, Charlie Drake, in 2010 and married him in August 2012. Sharon's family grew larger over the years, resulting in 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family and friends. Sharing time with loved ones of all ages and playing games or cards at the kitchen table was one of her favorite things to do. Sharon is survived by her husband, Charlie, her children Jim (Barb) Harding, Julie (Scott) Jacobson, Nikki (Brian) Einfalt, Alan (Maureen) Drake, a sister, Marilyn (Glenn) Johnson, and a brother Steve (Suzette) Hommer and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
