WONG, Sarah Elizabeth On Friday, February 26, 2021, Sarah Elizabeth Wong, loving wife to her husband and nurturing mother to her daughter, passed away at the age of 46 following a year long battle against cancer. Sarah was born in Columbus, Nebraska, to John and Carolyn (Steele) Lippert. She earned her degree in English and her teaching certification from Wayne State College in 1993 and taught at the middle and high school level across Nebraska, Kansas, and California. On March 16, 2002, Sarah married Frederick D. Wong. They raised one daughter, Cassandra. A military spouse, she was an active member of the Protestant Women of the Chapel towards supporting the community and displayed the grace and strength of an Army wife and Christian mother while her husband was deployed overseas. A lifelong reader, Sarah had a passion for literature, science fiction, fantasy, and the arts. More specifically, Sarah developed a love for paper crafting cards and designing scrapbooks to remember the events and people she loved and cared for. To this day, her friends and family still happily recall the papercrafting fellowship events hosted in their home during their time stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Sarah is survived by her husband, Frederick and daughter, Cassandra, her parents, John and Carolyn Lippert, her sister, Rachel (Lippert) Sokol, uncles, aunts, cousins, and a nephew. A private memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. The family respectfully requests that flowers or donations are not sent at this time.
