After a long struggle with cancer, Sandy joined our Lord on the evening of June 30th, 2018. Sandy was born in West Point, Nebraska to David and Janet (Beerbohm) Lemp on July 2nd, 1960. She met and fell in love with her husband Rick Preister on New Year’s Eve 1979/1980, and they married in Omaha on July 19th, 1986. She worked in the medical health field for most of her life; graduating with her associate’s degree from Omaha College of Health Careers as a surgical technician. Besides her career, Sandy also spent her time as a loving wife and mother. Motherhood was always her ultimate goal, and to that end, always worked her career around the needs of her family. Sandy has always been a very giving person. While her children, Amy and Adam, attended school, she was always volunteering for the school district. She has participated in the Papillion Public Library book club for a number of years, and is always ready to lend a hand to a friend or neighbor in need. Her family and friends know what a loving heart she had.Her giving nature and spirit will be extremely missed.We were all better people for knowing her. She is survived by her Husband of 32 years, Richard “Rick” Preister; Parents David & Janet Lemp; Daughter Amy Preister & husband Nick Kerwin; Son Adam Preister & husband Tim Thompson; Siblings: Dan, David,Linda, and Vicky; Many other relatives & friends Celebration of Sandy’s Life: Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:30am, with family receiving friends at 9:30am, one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel) Memorials given to the family will be used in Sandy’s memory at a later date.
