Sandra was born November 5th, 1957, passed peacefully on June 17th, 2013. She was born and raised in Southwest, IA. Sandra was very active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship, Rainbow Girls and participated in the Orient High School band as a bass drummer. Her real loves were art, cooking and people. She attended Morningide College. She loved traveling, sightseeing and reading to and teaching her granddaughter to paint. Most recently she has been involved with Community Alliance and loved working with others to break down barriers for people with mental health issuea and survivors of abuse. She is survived by her daughter Avril (Burd) Carter (Dustin Merrifield, Drew and Tyler), son Austin Burd and granddaughter Kerren Burd, sisters Linda Jennings, Lyla Monagon, Zella Jones and Rhonda Gragg and her beloved Aunt Mary Ann along with many other family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Jeanne and Robert Jones. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Community Alliance, 4001 Leavenworth St. Omaha, NE.
