Robert ( Bob) was born in Omaha Ne on November 12, 1946 to Robert and Gertrude Thiessen.. He had 1 older sister, Marion, and 1 younger brother, Ray. He attended Benson High School, where he met Carol Butterfield. They married on February 6, 1965. They were blessed with 4 children; Amy, Rob, Lori, and Stacy, followed by 7 grandchildren: Winter, Danielle, Andrew, Brianna, Crissy, Ian and Zander. Then came the great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jordan, James, Braxton, Elliett, Ryker, and Oliver. Continuing with 2 great great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Marcellus, and soon a 3rd will arrive, Ryler. Bob enjoyed spending time with all the kids and watching them play and grow.
Bob had a variety of jobs during his life, most in the automotive field. The most recent was as a diesel truck mechanic at Robert's Dairy, before his retirement.
He loved fishing and camping, a little gardening, and cooking on the grill or smoker.
Bob loved his family and took good care of them. February 6 would have been his 59th wedding anniversary. He fought leukemia for the last 3 years but the chemo drugs stopped working for him. He will be greatly missed by his wife Carol and all his family and friends, including his fishing buddy Willy.
