Robert E. Shafer Sr. December 24, 1942 - February 16, 2022 Robert E Shafer, of Omaha, NE died on February 16, 2022, in Omaha. He died peacefully with his family by his side. He was 79 years old and married to his beloved Doreen for over 51 years Robert was born on December 24,1942, in Buffalo, NY. He graduated from Maryvale High School in Buffalo, NY. He moved to Omaha, NE as a machinist for Western Electric in 1976, and remained there until he retired with AVAYA. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Buffalo Bills and watched the team play with fellow Buffalo fans at a local establishments. He enjoyed learning new technology at Do Space, where he was recently named a member of the month. He has donated 21 units of CMV negative blood which allowed him to help many babies due to this particular blood type. He loved woodworking of all types with his favorite being oak, with a light oil stain. He could make anything out of wood, including pinewood derby cars for his grandsons. He also enjoyed tinkering and could fix anything and everything he could find. He is survived by his wife, Doreen (Ogden) of Omaha; his children Robert Shafer (Angela) of Dublin, Ireland and Kyle Shafer (Janell) of Omaha. His grandchildren Erin, Maeve, Maxwell, Loralei, and Oliver Shafer. His 30 year old pet cockatiel, Peepers. His brothers and sisters, Kenneth Shafer Jr., Dave Shafer, Pam Kreuzer and Kim Shafer. Robert was proceeded in death by parents Kenneth Shafer Sr. and Virginia Shafer, his brother Christopher Shafer.
