Robert “Brent” Holder, 68, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away in the comfort of his home and in the presence of his family on December 11, 2024. Brent was a devoted husband, incredible dad, caring “bumpa” (grandfather), cherished sibling, and genuine friend.
Brent was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska on February 19, 1956 to Robert W. Holder and Delores A. German. He was a standout student and athlete at Fort Calhoun High School before studying English Education at the University of Nebraska. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Doane College. He spent his professional career as a teacher, coach, and principal to students at Conestoga High School, Papillion Middle School, and Liberty Middle School before retiring in 2017.
Brent was happiest when spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, enjoying nature, and exploring the world by foot and bicycle. Together with his wife, Paula, he was often found around Chalco Park, walking the trails, fishing from the shore, or driving the roads counting deer.
He was responsible for countless life lessons and cherished stories and will be remembered for his grit, resilience, and leadership.
Brent was preceded in death by his father and mother and his daughter Elizabeth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Paula, son Kyle (Melissa Roberts), daughter Morgan (Michael Sammons), son Tanner (Clare Schmisek), grandchildren Louisa and Arthur, and siblings Christie, David, and JR.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the many incredible individuals who helped him in his hard-fought battle against cancer, especially those at the Nebraska Cancer Specialists, Urology Center, Methodist Hospital, St. Croix Hospice Care, and Braman Mortuary.
Brent’s legacy will live on through his friends and family, as well as the many classmates, students, athletes, educators, healthcare providers, neighbors, and people he touched.
