Robert Francis Hanson (“Bob”) was born June 17th 1960 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the 7th child of Howard and Marjorie Hanson. Bob became known as a little brother, friend, mentor, Dad, and Grandpa. Bob attended ICC and Omaha South High where he created life long friends and memories playing football and performing in theater. Bob’s life was filled with music, sports, jokes, stories, laughter, family, friends, and love. He had a diverse employment history such as DJing, managing bars, salesman, executive chef, and most recently a medical collections specialist. Bob made an impact on numerous people throughout his various careers. Bob passed away on January 5th, 2022 at his home in Missouri Valley, Iowa; he was 61 years old. He lived a fulfilling life, easing the suffering of others and fostering joy. Always choosing to be content and kind. People gravitated towards Bob’s infectious laugh, entertaining stories, and ability to make you smile. Bob had a child like innocence and was a kid at heart. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marjorie Hanson; stepmother, Frances Hanson; brothers, Dale and Byron Hanson; nephew, Logan Hanson. He is survived by his children: Drew, Allen (Melissa), and Tiffani Riedel; Siblings: Norman (Joyce), Gary, Michael (Linda), Patricia Bradford (Michael Batty); sister-in-law, Sharon Hanson; 6 grandkids: Zowey Rae (12), Anna Marie (10), Howard Kent (6), Addilyn Lee (6), Gavin Andrew (4), and Lillian Jean (2); as well as many other relatives and friends.
