JONES, Robert E., Rev. 11/16/1927 – 7/9/2018 Age 90 years of Omaha Robert was born November 16, 1927 to Leland and Beulah (Phillips) Jones on a small farm outside of Bedford, IA. He graduated from Conway High School, class of 1945 and soon after began classes at Maryville, MO. He took a break from school and enlisted in the US Army in 1946 where he proudly served as a Private First Class with Quartermaster Special Services until September 1947. Upon discharge he returned to finish his degree at IowaState University and began a career as a vocational Ag teacher.In the early 60s he felt a calling to attend seminary at Drake University.The remainder of his life he fulfilled this calling with service to manychurches.He continued to pastor in many capacities, even after his retirement in 1992. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, papa and friend. He found enjoyment in storytelling, gardening, fishing, tending to his animals and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.His greatest passion was his love for Jesus and he dedicated his life to sharing the love of Christ with those around him. He was a life well lived and how sweet it must have been for him to hear Jesus say these words: "Well done my good and faithful servant". He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Gerald, and son James. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 67 years, Phyllis, children: Kathleen (John) Harris, Robert Jones, Amy Johnson, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many more family and friends.
