Robin Lee Rasmussen passed away on March 13 at his home in Omaha after an extended battle with cancer. He was born November 28, 1940 in North Platte to Harold and Evelyn Rasmussen. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1959 and married Carolyn Harmonson from Ogallala in 1962. Two daughters, Brenda (1967) and Lisa (1970) were born to that union. In 1978, Rob married Mary Yost and two more daughters, Melissa (1979) and Jennifer (1981) were born to that union. Rob and Jane Walton spent 4 years together before marrying in 2006 and for the last 5 years of Rob’s life Jane has been his unyielding companion, best friend and life partner. Rob earned an accounting degree at the University of Denver in 1962 and worked in his early years as a managing partner for Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm in Omaha. He later opened his own insurance business and purchased four Kentucky Fired Chicken restaurants in small towns near Omaha. Rob loved his sports and was an avid golfer and a strong supporter of the Cornhuskers. He served his community over the years in leadership capacities with the Omaha United Way, the Jaycees and the March of Dimes Walkathon. Rob is survived by his wife Jane, daughters Brenda (Tony) Ketcham of Ogallala, Lisa (Jeff) Morris of Castle Pines, Colorado, Melissa (Robert) Spencer of Omaha , Jennifer Rasmussen of Omaha, sister, Kandie Borchman of Omaha, brothers Harold (Butch) Rasmussen of North Platte, Ron Rasmussen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rocky Rasmussen of North Platte, stepdaughter Kristin Walton of Omaha, ten grandchildren, a niece and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his grand parents. Remains have been cremated and memorial services will be Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at West Hills Church, 3015 S. 82nd Ave in Omaha. Braman Mortuary in Omaha is in charge of arrangements
