Rita A. Fulton died peacefully Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Rita was born November 5, 1924 to Albert and Lena (Hering) Stafford in Musactine, Iowa. She spent her younger years living in West Liberty, Iowa with her three older sisters where she graduated from high school in 1942.She was the only one of the girls that had red hair and was very proud of her Irish Heritage and enjoyed singing her favorite Irish tunes. She married Richard J. Fulton in Iowa City and they married June 2, 1947. They had 2 daughters before moving to Omaha, NE and having two sons. She worked at the telephone company for 30 years. She enjoyed helping people and was very generous with her time, having many, many good friends. She was not content with retirement so she became a clown famously known as Carrottop.She has a very large community of clown friends and enjoyed making people smile for 25 years with her magical tricks and her balloon animals. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters. Survivors include her two daughters Linda (Daryl) Lukehart of Perkins, OK, Patty Swanson of Omaha, NE,her two sons Richard A. Fulton of Omaha, NE,Tim Fulton of Omaha, NE.Her Grandchildren Kelly (Kyle) Smithson of Omaha, NE, Tony (Doni) Lukehart of Cushing, OK, Jennifer Fulton of Omaha, NE, Brian (Mary) Fulton of Omaha, NE.She was blessed with Great Grandchildren Elizabeth (Casey) Lukehart of Stillwater, OK, Rachel (Jimmy) Kinder of Broken Arrow, OK , Beau Lukehart of Cushing, OK, Gillian Smithson, Hunter Smithson, Thomas Fulton, James Fulton, Lily Fulton all of Omaha, NE. And her Great Great Granddaughter Arabella Kinder. VISITATION: Friday January 4, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a Virgil service at 6:30 all at Braman Mortuary (72nd St Chapel). FUNERAL MASS: Saturday January 5, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church (9025 Larimore Ave). INTERMENT: Forest Lawn Cemetery with a Lunch to follow to gather with family and friends at St James Catholic Church Parish Center.
