KING, RICHARD "SCOTT" 05/09/1962 ~ 01/13/2022 (Richard) Scott King, 59, of Omaha, Nebraska died on January 13, 2022 after a brief illness. He is survived by his children Creighton, Carson, and Chrissa of Omaha; his siblings Judy in Arizona, Bill (Maureen) in Indiana, Kathy (Mark) in Tennessee, and Merry (Dan) in Minnesota; his sisters-in-law Evelyn in Iowa, Jenean in Washington, and Irene in Texas; his former wife Jackie in Omaha, and many nieces and nephews across the country. Preceding his death are his daughter Christine, parents Leland and Rosemarie King, brothers Jim, Chuck, and Bob and brother-in-law Owen. Scott had the biggest heart. Family always came first for him. He opened his home to many, many relatives over the years, in many cases for long-term stays. He enjoyed football, especially the Huskers and Cowboys. He enjoyed road trips to visit family members, and was a big dog-lover, starting with his first dog Scooby when he was a young boy. He was also a car-lover and knowledgeable about all things cars. He was an avid Jeopardy lover and usually knew all the answers before the contestants did. Anyone who knows Scott knows how funny he was; he loved jokes and comedy, and many family members said he missed his calling as a comedian. He had a quick wit and was always “on”. Even though he was the baby in a family of eight kids, he was very protective of his older sisters. Scott most recently worked as a train dispatcher at the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha. He had been in that position for 24 years. Prior to that Scott was a sales rep for Berryman Products in Dallas. Scott’s family is planning a celebration of life for him in the fall, Scott’s favorite time of year. Scott will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his children. He was more than a father, but an amazing dad, and will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Nebraska Humane Society.
