Richard A. "Dick" Maxwell

MAXWELL, Richard Alexander "Dick", Sr. 2/13/1935 - 11/14/2020 Survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine “Cathy” Maxwell; Two Sons: Ed Maxwell (wife, Janice Maxwell) & Rick Maxwell, Jr.; Daughter, Deb Maxwell; Grandchildren: Amanda, Matthew & Zachary Maxwell (wife, Trish Maxwell) & Melissa Hunnel; Great Grandchildren: Bryson, Lily, Wesley & William; Many other relatives and friends. Dick and Cathy met on a blind date in 1956 while both attending college. They were inseparable ever since and married on June 14,, 1958 in Richmond, Virginia. Dick had a career with Western Electric for 37 years and upon retirement he enjoyed gardening, square dancing with his wife, grandchildren & friends, Nebraska Cornhusker football games. Dick was a Deacon, Financial Secretary & member of Benson Church of Christ as well as a dedicated volunteer at the Salvation Army for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Benson Church of Christ (2704 N. 58th St., Omaha, NE 58104) Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
