Richard "Dick" G. Bennett Born November 4, 1939 Deceased January 28, 2022 Richard arrived at Boys Town July 14, 1954. Richard was involved in many activities at Boys Town, but it was singing as a tenor in the Boys Town Choir that gave him his greatest joy. A love of music that he carried with him throughout his life and filled his home. Richard was an Army Veteran. He served from 1963 to 1965 as a paratrooper. In September 1963, he married Patricia and together they raised eight children. Richard was active in the St. Bernard's Parish, volunteering in the choir and coaching the kids' various sports. Papa loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren, as they kept him young. Preceded in death by loving wife, Patricia (Dunn) Bennett and brothers, Robert Bennett, Levy Bennett, and Charlie Bennett. Survived by children, Richard (Sofie) Bennett, Chris Bennett, Mary Kay (Mike) Gunther, Paul (Suzie) Bennett, Molly (Kevin) Kelly, John Bennett, James (Deidre) Bennett, Erica Bennett; 12 Grandchildren. Visitation: Wednesday, February 2 from 5-7 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 3601 N. 65th St., Omaha NE Funeral Mass: Thursday, February 3 at 10 am at St Bernard's. Interment: Calvary Cemetery with full military honors Memorials to: St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 3601 N. 65th St., Omaha, NE 68104
