EWER, Richard Duane "Dick" 3/14/1948 - 4/26/2021 Richard “Dick” Duane Ewer was born to Duane and Clara Mae Ewer on March 14, 1948 in Kearney, NE.He grew up in Curtis, NE until he was a sophomore in high school.At that time, his family moved to Aberdeen, SD because of his Dad’s job.After high school, Dick met Donna Hedges at a community dance.Dick and Donna were married December 27, 1970 and moved to Council Bluffs, IA where their oldest son Darin was born.Dick soon got a job at Control Data in Omaha.After a few short years they built a home in Springfield, NE where Deric, Danny, and Darci were born and still live today. Dick was an outdoorsman and spent many hours hunting with his boys.While the kids were growing up the family spent weekends at the Louisville Gun Club camping and fishing, and taking trips back to Aberdeen for holidays.He loved coaching and watching his kids in their sports and activities and continued with his grandkids.Dick was always a jokester and thrived on making people laugh.He was an avid Husker fan being a football season ticket holder always heading to Lincoln before the crowd.He worked hard finding opportunities to get autographs from any Husker player or coach. In February 2010, Dick retired from Yellow Freight.He spent a lot of his time gardening, splitting wood and he enjoyed being a grandpa.Dick and Donna loved spending time together going for drives and being available for their kids and grandkids. Preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Clara Mae (Psota) Ewer; brother, Brian Ewer Survived by his wife, Donna Ewer; sons, Darin Ewer, Deric Ewer (Jami), Danny Ewer (Deanna); daughter, Darci Mangelsen (Matt); eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; siblings, Judy Ewer, Steve Ewer, Susan Koerner and many other family members and friends Visitation: Friday, April 30 from 4 pm - 6 pm with a Celebration of Dick's Life at 6 pm, at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel To leave a condolence visit:bramanmortuary.com
