Reita was born on January 13, 1933 in Gibbon, Nebraska to Gerald W. Covert and Mae (Long) Covert. Later the family moved to Kearney, Nebraska.On October 9, 1955 she married Darrell J. Maret. Since Darrell worked for the Union Pacific Railroad they moved frequently before finally settling down in Omaha, Nebraska.
Reita loved to play bingo, travel, garden and spend time with her family. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sisters, granddaughter, Andrea Maret; and son in law, Eric Witthuhn.
Reita is survived by her children, Ron (Deanna) Maret, Kyndra Witthuhn and Connie (Mike) Israelson; grandchildren, Becky (Mark) Keyser and Brandy (John) Hanes; great-grandchildren, PJ, Delaney, Maddox, Alexander and William; all of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as many nieces and nephews.
