VUONG, Phat Van

Phat Van Vuong, 69 of Omaha, NE lost his battle to cancer on November 9th, 2023 at Lakeside Hospital. Phat was born on June 26th 1954 in Biên Hòa, Vietnam where he married Phung Kim Tang in 1979 giving birth to Tai Tang Vuong in 1980 as refugees, then Van My Vuong in 1982 USA, and Toan Phuoc Vuong in 1988 USA. As refugees of the Vietnam war, Phat and Phung were refugees, to multiple countries including Thailand, then Indonesia, and eventually to Omaha NE. The two were able to find stable factory jobs and industrial tech positions in Omaha, where they raised three children in the Millard area of Omaha. Phat enjoyed fishing as well as raising an aquarium of fish in his home, even until his final days. He lived a full life of bantering with friends while singing Karaoke, watching football, traveling back to his homeland, and fixing things around his home with his electrical and mechanical ingenuity acquired when he was still living in Vietnam.
Phat was preceded in death by his parents, San Phuoc Vuong and Sau Thi Nguyen, and his younger sister Thao Vuong. He is survived by his aforementioned wife and children as well as members of his immediate family Thu Vuong, Ha Vuong, and Bong Vuong; He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren; Emma, Emelia, Ava, and Mason.
