Pauline (Hornbussel) Knott, 88, of Omaha died on April 30th at the House of Hope from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Pauline was born on September 13, 1923 in Superior, Nebraska to Frederick and Katherine Hornbussel. While she learned to drive a tractor before she could drive a car, she was drawn to nursing and left the family farm to attend the Clarkson School of Nursing where she graduated in 1946. With a lifelong passion for education, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1982 from the College of St. Mary’s. She was employed at InterNorth Inc., and served on the Board of Director’s of the Nebraska Association of Occupational Health Nurses, including one year as its President. On December 25, 1946 she married Robert Knott. She is survived by her children: Robert Knott Jr. of Omaha, Doug Knott (Kathy) of Rochester Minnesota, Julia Knott of Fort Walton Beach Florida, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Robert, her loving husband of 65 years and her daughter Pamela Knott of Tucson Arizona. Pauline was a strong, caring and intelligent woman. While her memory was stolen from her, she will be long remembered by her family and friends. Memorial Service, Sat. (5/26/2012) 2 pm at Braman Mortuary – 72nd St. Chapel.
