Paul was born on July 26, 1933, in Omaha, Nebraska to Paul and Olive (Kier) Coburn. Paul came from a large family, with nine sisters, one of whom passed in infancy, and one brother. He spent part of his childhood in Calico Rock, Arkansas, and he held lifelong happy memories of his time there. Paul began his working life at a young age and held various jobs before working for a large water well drilling and pump company, where he was employed for 35 years. This work took him to countless towns and villages across Nebraska and into Western Iowa where he serviced town water pumps.
Paul was an avid car enthusiast throughout his life, attending car shows and restoring a 1951 Chevy pick-up truck. He passed this passion for vehicles along to his children, grandchildren, and now to his great-grandson. Paul also loved animals and this has carried through to his great-grandchildren as well.
He was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Marge; his children John (Connie) Coburn, Bill (Ruth) Coburn, Tony (Marlene) Barnes; and Paula
Coburn; grandchildren Jeff Coburn, Jenny Wright, Michaela Tiarks, Nick Barnes, Jason Barnes, and Ashley Williamson; great-grandchildren Jaelyn Tiarks, Franklin Wright, Kalyssa Fox, and Charlie Williamson; his sisters Barbara Turner, Jeannie McClellan, and Shirley Collins; many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Omaha, Nebraska
