Nyamal Deng was born on September 15, 1995 to David Duoth Deng and Elizabeth Nyakhot Lam in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1998, Nyamal and her family moved to Omaha, Nebraska. A very young Nyamal took on the leadership role within their household being the eldest girl. Nyamal graduated from Central High School in May of 2013. She later studied at South East community college in Beatrice, Nebraska. On September 19, 2016, Nyamal gave birth to the light of her world Nova Deng. Nyamal was raised to love god and love her family, so much that she had a tattoo of a cross on her left hand symbolizing her Christian background, and a tattoo of an infinity sign with her father and mother’s names engraved on her heart. Nyamal continued her studies at Metropolitan community college. Her main goal was to always build a better future for her and her daughter. Nyamal enjoyed conversations about bettering herself. She knew how to encourage and motivate anyone. She was always so cheerful and full of energy, and let’s not forgot her eye for fashion, she could make anything look good. Nyamal Deng was an exceptional mother, caring daughter, wonderful sister, cousin and a great friend to many.
