Nicholas Angelo Curto Jr., 81, of Omaha, died Feb. 1. A mass will be held at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, at Holy Name Catholic Church. On Monday, March 16, a Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. at Braman Southwest Chapel, with internment to follow at 2 p.m. at Omaha National Cemetery. Curto moved to Omaha in 1976 when Western Electric Co. closed its plant in Buffalo, New York, offering many of the almost 2000 employees jobs at the Omaha plant. He worked for “Ma Bell” for over 40 years, through the various name changes, including AT&T and Lucent Technologies. After retiring from the plant, Nick travelled frequently and remained active at Holy Name Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Karen of Omaha; brother, Richard of Kenmore, NY; his sister and her husband, Dolores and Robert Licht of Lumberton, TX. Children include: Lisa Curto-Rood and husband, John of Lincoln; Sabrina (Curto) Murrell and husband, Jay, of Phoenix, AZ; Brenda Curto of Omaha; Nicholas E. Curto and wife, Kelly Ball, of Waverly;Regina St. John of Omaha; Samantha Curto of Papillion. Grandchildren include Darin St. John, Harrison Rood, Karen Murrell, Sofia Curto, Jameson Rood, Sage Curto, Ginger Murrell, Jacob Curto, and Mackenzie Tefft.
