Mishelle Hays

HAYS, Mishelle A. 10/31/1962 – 6/29/2019 Mishelle was born on October 31, 1962 in Kearney, Nebraska to Rodney & Patricia (Morris) Hays and was the youngest of three children.While her family did move often, Mishelle spent most of her childhood in Columbus, Nebraska and her teenage years in Harlingen, Texas. During her time in Harlingen, Mishelle met Mark Cradit and they were united in marriage on March 3rd 1984.Shortly after their union, she had their first child Michael and two years later Mallory was born. Mishelle, Michael, and Mallory moved to Huron, South Dakota to be closer to her parents.While in Huron, Mishelle enjoyed raising her children, playing darts, and attending dirt track races with Bruce Hartley, her long time partner. In 2001, Mishelle and her children joined her sister Moni in Columbus, Nebraska.In 2003, she was employed at Ag Park where she met her long time partner Mike Hasselbalch.They bonded over a love for animals and traveling around for horse races. She also attended Purdue University to obtain her LPN.Mishelle graduated from Purdue in 2006 completing her dream of helping others, an accomplishment she was extremely proud of. Wanting to be closer to her children, Mishelle moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2018.In September of that year she suffered a stroke. Knowing something had to be done, Mallory moved Mishelle into her home to provide additional support for her daily activities. Unfortunately, during this time she was not able to recover from her stroke.Mishelle passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2019 listening to her favorite music surrounded by her children and their spouses. She will always be remembered by the love she had for her children, furbabies, jamming to music, shark week, breakfast burritos, organizing family camping, going to theme parks, Husker football, aquariums, tattoos, family Christmas, Halloween, war documentaries, making family videos, scary & SciFi movies, and reading Steven King novels. Mishelle was preceded in death by her parents Rod & Pat Hays, sister Moni Hays; She is survived by her Son Michael Cradit & wife Stephanie Oppliger; Daughter Mallory Cradit & husband Derick Traub; Brother Mike Hays; Longtime companion Mike Hasselbalch; Her faithful fur baby, Rylee Private services will be held at a later date Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel) 1702 N. 72 St. Omaha, NE68114 402-391-2171
