Page, Michael E. “Papa” 10/21/1954 – 10/7/2018 Michael E. “Papa” Page was born on October 21, 1954 in Omaha, NE to George & Violet Page (Taylor).He grew up in Omaha and went to North High School.He started working for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1974.He married Mateel Mason in September of 1974 and they had two children. Mike was the Chairman of the Machinists Union in 1986. He bought an acreage and moved his family to Herman, NE in 1987.After the UP shops closed in 1988, Mike worked for various Tool & Dye companies until joining up with the Santa Fe Railroad in the early 90’s.He continued working and eventually became a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific RR where he retired in October of 2014, at the age of 60. He was always learning new things.He had many hobbies such as oil painting, woodworking, hunting, fishing, metal working, banjo, and guitar playing, making and pushing the fruit cake, cooking, entertaining, wine/beer tasting, wine making, camping, working on cars, playing the harmonica, spending time with his grandkids, gardening, canning, making HOT salsa, researching all things known to man, and travel to Colorado. In November of 2003, he met and fell in love with Jacque M. Forsberg, they married in May of 2006 and welcomed three fur babies, Trixie, Crockpot, and his beloved Tinky. They spent a lot time with their family and friends entertaining, taking kids to Nebraska City for apple picking, cooking, and making a lot of memories. Between the two they had 5 children. He was preceded in death by parents George & Violet Page, Sister Jeanne Page, Daughter-in-law Lydia Tilson. Mike is Survived by his wife of 12 years, Jacque Page; Children: Rebecca (Jessie) Matlock, Brian Page and Nichole Snow, Ron (Jodi) Jocheim, Lisa (Sam) DeVall, and Angie Mooney; Grand-children: Nathan Matlock, Madison Steinmetz (Drake), Colton Matlock, Breann Matlock, Kaida Page, Lily Jocheim, Chloe Meehan, Brooklyn Jocheim, Owen Meehan, Slyar Page, Lexi Jocheim, Carter DeVall, Savannah Mooney, Hudson Mooney, and Mira DeVall; Great-granddaughter:Berkleigh “LB” Steinmetz; Brother George (Mary) Page; Sister Judy (Jim) Robidoux; Brother-in-law Tony (Dawn) Forsberg; Uncle Jim Phegley; Nieces and nephews, Julie (Jim) Rockwood, Laurie Page, Kim (Jim) Murphy, Kristin Boyer, Michael Robidoux, and Jay (Summer) Robidoux. Mike is also survived by many other family, friends, and friends who became family. Mike was a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, and most of all “Papa”.He will be in our hearts forever and missed every day.
