Merrill Richard Christensen, age 76 of Omaha, Nebraska, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Born to Merrill Richard Christensen, Sr. and Ruth Hanson Christensen. Richard served his country 1959 to 1962 with the US Navy, after graduating high school from North High. While on leave, he met Dale Snead and the two were married shortly thereafter on December 9, 1961. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Dale, February 7, 2016, after having been married 54 years. He is survived by his two children, Penny (Jeff) Elliott and Rick (Gail) Christensen. He has 8 grandchildren: Jessica (Todd) Olsen; Janette (Justin) Boggs; Aaron Elliott and fiancé, Sydney Crum; Ian White and Jocelyn Ashburner. There are 3 great-grandchildren: Charlotte and Zoe Clark and Baby Olsen due in November. He is also survived by 3 sisters: Sharonne Monaco, Carol (Bill) Anderson and Ruth (Dwight) Anderson; sister-in-law, Lona (Bill) Langston, Johnny (Patsy) Snead and Tim Snead. Richard and his wife enjoyed in serving the Lord, for over 30 years at various Christian camps and churches, Christian colleges as well as Missionary Acres, a retirement community for missionaries in Silva, MO.
