KENDRICK, Mattie Evelyn 11/29/1932 - 4/29/2022 Mattie Evelyn Busch was born on November 29, 1932, in Pearsall, TX, to Benjamin Busch and Hattie Alma Fudge Busch. She was the youngest of 3 children. She graduated from Pearsall High School in 1948. Mattie was married to Dale Eugene Brown from November 1951 until his death in January 1959. They had 1 daughter, Rebecca Brown Helms.She then married to McIlhaney R. Kendrick III in February 1962 until their divorce in January 1996. They had 1 son, Bradley Dale Kendrick. Throughout her lifetime, Mattie worked various jobs, including at K-Mart, Walgreens & Kentucky Fried Chicken, but she was mainly a military wife and a homemaker. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and a friend to many. In her later years, she lived at Homestead Assisted Living in LaVista, NE, until the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Irene, brother Edsel, husband Dale Brown, daughter Rebecca, and nephew Kenneth Busch. She is survived by son Bradley (Shelley) Kendrick of Omaha, NE, son in law Jim Helms of Blanco, TX, granddaughter Lindsey (Travis) Kostal of Odell, NE, granddaughter Kaysey Kendrick, and grandson Benjamin Kendrick, both of Omaha, NE, and two great grandsons, Ezra and Luka Kostal. She also leaves behind her niece Darlene (Mike) Teat, Corpus Christi, TX, sister in law Lavern Roper, Corpus Christi, TX, and great nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mattie's Life will be on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:30am, with family receiving friends starting at 11:00am, all at Millard Alliance Church, 15405 Adams St., across from Andersen Middle School. Immediately after the service, please join the family for a luncheon at the church. Mom would not want anyone to make a big fuss over her, so please feel free to come in casual attire (ie. jeans, sandals, etc).
