Mary Jane Wilson (Krause,) precious wife of David E. Wilson, went from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 3, 2019. She had courageously endured cancer treatment for over eight years. Mary was born in Mountain Lake, MN, on Christmas Day, 1949, to Wilma (Franz) and David Krause. She graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1968, and earned an Elementary Education degree from Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS, in 1972. Her career was dedicated to lovingly teaching children of Omaha, NE, to grow in knowledge and character. Mary grew up on a farm, enjoying the outdoors. Her early memories are of swinging in the willow tree, swimming in the farm creek, and sledding down the long hill in the pasture. She was very talented at playing sports, particularly softball. She played on a women’s league in Omaha into her 40s. Other interests were reading, traveling, golfing, needlework, watching sports and attending Bible Study Fellowship. One of her most unique gifts was photography. She splurged on a high-tech camera that allowed her to capture breath-taking photographs of flowers and plants. She then used the prints to create beautiful greeting cards. Her favorite photography subject was her dear granddaughter, taking thousands of pictures of her from birth to the present. Music has always been a special part of Mary’s life, In high school she played flute in the band and sang in the choir. After joining Covenant Presbyterian Church, she became part of the music ministry, treasuring her choir family. Mary met David Wilson through having her car serviced at his auto repair business. They were married on The Fourth of July, 1987, and have been together on a love journey since then, doing much traveling and spending time with treasured family and friends. Her greatest joy revolved around Dave, son Andy, granddaughter Izzy, family, friends, church choir, BSF, sports, and giving to those in need. Those she loved well include husband Dave, son Andy Wilson, granddaughter Izzy Wilson, siblings Richard (Fay) Krause, Gordon (Lori) Krause, and Diane (Jim) Meyers, mother-in-law Dona Wilson, in-laws Donelle (Larry) Royce, Denise (Tim) Wilson, and DeAnne (Max) Smith, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary is now reunited with her late parents David and Wilma Krause, niece Allison Meyers, and father-in-law Donald E. Wilson. May Mary’s life in heaven be joyous as she waits to welcome all those she has held dear. Celebration of Mary’s Life: Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Covenant Presbyterian Church (150th & Blondo St.) In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Covenant Presbyterian Church Music Ministry.
